From Tor Hawley: Inventive
It took me 22 years to embrace my curly hair, to cease straightening it, to let or not it’s a wild piece of me. Embracing my curls, my latina, taught me a brand new depth of freedom.
While sitting at my hair appointment sooner or later, my curly specialist, Martina, mentioned her want to do a photograph shoot for bridal hairstyles with pure hair. My eyes lit up! We mentioned how far too many curly, kinky, coily girls really feel the necessity to put on wigs, weaves, or flat iron on their wedding ceremony day. We wished to start to vary that narrative.
This shoot is for Black girls, to champion their pure hair. It’s for pure hair and pure brides, for questioning the norm of weddings, for Black brides embracing their most pure selves on their finest day. It’s for phenomenal Black girls, and freedom to be.
